Many believers unconsciously live as though God is merely watching from heaven while they struggle through life alone. Yet the Bible presents a very different picture of God. The God of Scripture is not an observer standing at a distance; He is a personal God who desires to be actively involved in the affairs of His people. When the Bible says, “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save” (Isaiah 59:1 KJV), it is telling us that God’s ability to intervene has never diminished. If His hand seems absent in a man’s life, the problem is not that God has withdrawn His power but that the man has not aligned himself with the things that activate God’s involvement. It is possible to live your entire life without positioning yourself for the movement of God’s hand in your favour. Sadly, it is also possible to live in ways that provoke His hand against you. This is why Christianity must never be treated as a casual relationship. It is a covenant relationship with responsibilities on both sides. When you fulfil your part in that covenant, God responds by fulfilling His own part.
One of the great errors of modern Christianity is the idea that God simply blesses people randomly without regard to their actions or attitudes. But Scripture and experience both show that there are keys that move the hand of God. Sometimes the difference between struggle and divine intervention is not effort but alignment with spiritual principles. There are actions, attitudes, and responses that position a believer for God’s involvement. In the same way, there are choices that close the door to divine help. Many people blame the devil for situations that are the consequences of neglecting their covenant responsibilities. When a believer begins to take God for granted, he unknowingly distances himself from the very help he desperately needs. God does not want to be reduced to a silent spectator in your life. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals a God who gets involved: guiding, correcting, blessing, and sometimes restraining His people so that His purposes can prevail.
The question therefore is not whether God can intervene; the real question is whether your life is positioned to invite His intervention.
This month we will explore KEYS TO MOVING THE HAND OF GOD in our favour. When God begins to work for a man, many struggles disappear. Sometimes His involvement produces in a moment what years of personal effort could not accomplish. At other times, His hand provides what no human strength could ever obtain. In some cases, His intervention even becomes the difference between life and death. The wise believer therefore refuses to live carelessly. Instead, he deliberately aligns his life with the things that attract God’s favour. Make up your mind from the beginning of this journey that you will not live a life where God folds His hands concerning your affairs. Choose instead a life where His hand is constantly at work for your good.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I living with the consciousness that God desires to be actively involved in my life? What adjustments must I make so that my life aligns with the keys that move His hand in my favour?
PRAYER: Father, forgive every attitude that has limited Your involvement in my life. Help me walk in covenant alignment so that Your hand continually works in my favour, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
