In the past two days, we have seen two kinds of burdens that could come upon a man – human and demonic burdens. Today, we will be talking about the last and the third kind of burden.
The third kind of burden is the Holy Ghost burden. This is the weight of the Lord upon a man’s spirit which can mean different things depending on what the Lord is doing per time. God uses this burden to communicate His purpose that we are to push through into manifestation. It may be in the form of a conviction that comes to your heart and hangs in there. It means you are to do something about it and birth that purpose of God.
Always be a man or woman of conviction so that whatever you do is borne out of the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes Holy Ghost’s burden could be in form of godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation (2 Cor. 7:10). When you do something wrong, you feel sad within. The Holy Ghost drops that sorrow so you can get yourself corrected and back in line. If you do not, you will lose fellowship with the Holy Spirit. So, you must know how to interpret all these internal workings of God.
When was the last time you felt bad when you told a lie? If you lie freely without feeling bad, the Holy Ghost is far from you while a familiar spirit is near you. You must allow the conviction of the Holy Spirit to convict you of sin, righteousness, and God’s purpose. So, make room for godly sorrow. If you did something wrong and the Holy Spirit comes to smite your heart, feel it, cry, and repent!
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, help me to be faithful such that I will be attracted to You and You can lay the burden of the purpose of God upon my spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen!
