Distractions are one of the greatest hindrances to ascending higher in your walk with God. Paul’s singular focus on the high calling in Christ is a model for every believer. To press forward, you must lay aside the weights and sins that so easily ensnare (Hebrews 12:1).
A focused life is a powerful life.
It means choosing what matters most and eliminating what does not. Mary, the sister of Martha, chose to sit at Jesus’ feet, prioritizing His presence over the busyness of the moment (Luke 10:38-42). Similarly, you must fix your eyes on Jesus, who not only began your journey but will also perfect it.
As you focus on the high calling, ask God to reveal anything in your life that diverts your attention or drains your energy. Then take intentional steps to redirect your focus to what truly matters.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Are your daily priorities aligned with God’s purpose? What can you adjust to ensure He remains at the centre of your focus?
PRAYER: Lord, help me fix my eyes on You and stay focused on the high calling You have for me. Remove every distraction that keeps me from ascending higher. Amen.
