11 January 2025: BUILDING A HIGHER ALTAR – Genesis 12:7-8; 1 Kings 18:30-38

Every spiritual growth or journey requires an altar—a place of communion, sacrifice, and divine encounter. When Abraham journeyed with God, he built altars at significant moments of revelation (Genesis 12:7-8). Similarly, Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord before calling down fire from heaven (1 Kings 18:30-38).

Building a higher altar means prioritizing your relationship with God.

It is a commitment to daily prayer, worship, and studying His Word. The altar is not just a physical space; it is the state of your heart. When your altar is intact, it becomes a source of strength and alignment with God’s will.

Is your altar intact? Or does it need repair? A neglected altar leads to spiritual dryness, but a maintained one fuels your journey upward. Commit to building and maintaining a higher altar that keeps you connected to God’s power and purpose.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: What steps can you take to strengthen your daily altar of prayer and worship? How does your altar reflect your commitment to God?

PRAYER: Lord, help me to build and maintain a higher altar for You. Let my life be a place where Your fire burns continually. Amen.
