29 December 2022: MARRIAGE IS FOR TEAMING UP WITH GOD’S PURPOSE ON THE EARTH – Genesis 12:1-3; Galatians 3:13 – 14
There is a commitment of God to families on earth. In Genesis 12:3, God covenanted with Abraham that all the families of the earth shall be blessed in him. All families – those already existing, those that will be birthed as time goes on – are all connected to this blessing in Christ Jesus (Gal. 3:13–14).
God is looking for people that will team up with His purpose on earth. Don’t forget that the first thing in marriage is the purpose of God. God’s reason for marriage is the fulfilment of His purpose.
Women like Jezebel and Herodias have made men do what they didn’t plan to do. They have made them do more than what they bargained to do. As we saw earlier, the ability of a man to clearly hear the voice of God, to pick divine directions for himself and his family, and not go against God’s purpose is critical.
When my husband and I met and he went to meet my family, I had nothing to tell them that he had in terms of material wealth because he was a full–time pastor. Being a full–time pastor during those years was nothing good at all. However, by the time he went and spoke to my family, my uncle said, “The young man is sound. He looks like he knows what he is doing and looks like somebody going somewhere. So, let’s give it a trial.”
I’ve seen a lot of people, even brothers that carry the call of God, who had to be taught what a woman could do to them before they get into marriage because they were ignorant of the power of women. If nobody teaches a man such things before he meets a woman, he will not know what a woman could do to him and will fall prey to the tactics of women that are not controlled by the Spirit of God.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for my marriage. It will not be used against Your purpose but for it in Jesus’ name. Amen!
