The text above contains a powerful statement from the scripture. Timothy said God counted him faithful and put him in the ministry. This reveals to us that being called into ministry is a divine trust. But the question is, will you fail that trust or you will be faithful? When God considers a man trustworthy and appoints him to serve Him, then he is expected to bring faithfulness to that service. 1 Cor. 4:2 says, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
You may be a pastor over five people in your church today, but you must know that is what God is rating you with. How are you handling the sheep of the Lord? I want you to settle down with your assignment, function and run with it.
Separate yourself from issues and things that can pollute and disqualify you. Instead, align yourself with what God is doing and follow faithfully. Do the assignment with all your heart. Make yourself irreplaceable by doing it so well.
I made a decision many years ago that I will do my assignment so well that God will not be able to get a better replacement for the assignment He has committed into my hands.
Don’t join the company of those who neglect assignments in Zion. Such attitudes disqualify men from generation to generation. Assignment is what draws divine commitment to you. God is not obliged to keep a man without assignment.
