06 March 2026: EARLY MERCY SAVES YEARS OF STRUGGLE – Psalm 90:14; Lamentations 3:22

One of the quiet mercies God desires to give His people is early intervention. Many lives are not ruined because God is absent, but because mercy was delayed or unrecognised. Scripture records a prayer that should never leave a believer’s mouth: “O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90:14). This reveals God’s heart. He does not delight in watching His children struggle endlessly before helping them. Early mercy is God stepping into a life before damage becomes permanent, before delay hardens into frustration, and before joy is postponed unnecessarily. When mercy comes early, it shortens journeys and preserves destinies.

One of the strategies of the enemy is to strike people early in life, planting delays, confusion, and setbacks that slow progress. But mercy counters that agenda. When God satisfies a man early with mercy, joy becomes a companion, not a visitor. Early visions always make a great journey. Mercy interrupts the spirit of delay and restores momentum. This is why many people cannot explain how some recovered quickly while others remained stuck. It is not strength, intelligence, or effort alone; it is mercy making the difference. God’s compassion is designed to enter situations before they spiral. That same mercy keeps believers from being consumed, because His compassions never fail (Lamentations 3:22).

Where the enemy planned years of struggle, mercy introduces acceleration.

Your responsibility is to consciously ask for and recognise early mercy. Do not accept delay as normal when God has provided mercy as a remedy. When progress feels sluggish, mercy is the intervention you need. Begin to declare God’s Word over your journey. Confess that mercy is entering your life now, not later. Expect divine help to show up at the right time, through the right channels. Early mercy does not make you careless; it makes you grateful and focused. It gives you joy for the journey ahead instead of regret for lost years. As you walk with God, refuse the mindset that says suffering must always precede help. Mercy is available now, and when it comes early, it saves years of struggle and restores gladness to your days.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Have I accepted delay where God desires to show me early mercy? What area of my life do I need to deliberately ask God to satisfy early with mercy?

PRAYER: Father, satisfy me early with Your mercy. Break every delay and restore joy and momentum to my journey, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
