22 June 2025: THE HIGHEST REWARD: GOD’S COMMENDATION – Matthew 25:21, 2 Timothy 2:3–5

When we stand before God, the ultimate reward will not be material wealth, public fame, or earthly titles. It will be the Father’s commendation: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant…” (Matthew 25:21). Similarly, 2 Timothy 2:3–5 reminds us that no man who wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life, so that he may please Him who has chosen him to be a soldier. The commendation of the Father is not cheap; it is reserved for those who walk the narrow path of faithfulness, endurance, and purity, regardless of worldly applause or recognition.

Beloved, the greatest ambition of your heart must be to live for the Father’s “Well done.” Earthly crowns fade, human praises vanish, but divine commendation endures forever. Growing beyond acceptance into divine approval requires that you shift your focus from temporary achievements to eternal rewards. A faithful heart, a steady walk, a surrendered will — these are the treasures that will matter when you stand before the throne.

It is not the size of your service but the sincerity and faithfulness with which you serve that will bring the Father’s smile upon you.

I want you to learn that every hidden act of obedience, every quiet sacrifice, every faithful step taken when no one sees, is recorded in heaven. Do not be weary in well-doing, and do not let discouragement or comparison derail you. Heaven measures differently from earth. Let the cry of your heart daily be, “Father, help me to live in such a way that I bring You joy now and receive Your commendation eternally.” That is the highest and most glorious reward you can ever receive.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Are you living for the temporary rewards of men or for the eternal commendation of the Father? What adjustments do you need to make today to align your life more closely with heaven’s standards?

PRAYER: Dear Father, set my heart firmly on living for Your commendation. Help me to endure faithfully, obey sincerely, and serve wholeheartedly. Let my life bring You pleasure now and position me for Your “Well done” on that great day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
