Maintaining vital fellowship with the Holy Spirit is not a luxury for Christians, it is a survival requirement for anyone who wants to walk accurately into destiny. Many times people are blaming the devil when the real problem is that they have not waited on God enough to hear what He is saying. There are believers who are still holding on to an instruction God gave them many years ago, but they have not stayed in contact to hear what He is saying today. You must keep going back to the presence of God where fresh light, fresh timing and fresh adjustments come. One day in His courts can correct the mistakes of many years and give you an advantage that no human calculation can produce.
Over the years I have seen again and again how one season of obeying God in teaching or praying brought answers in areas I was not even thinking about. During a series of teachings on the end times as I dealt with the churches in the book of Revelation and related subjects, someone told us about a parcel of land. At that time the price was eight hundred and fifty thousand naira and we could not afford it, so we left it. Five years later that same land had appreciated to three and a half million naira. Humanly speaking we were already late. The owner was an elderly man in his seventies who had been watching those teachings on television. The Holy Spirit used that series to rivet his spirit. When we went to see him again, he spoke of how the messages had blessed him and he wanted the tapes. God used that connection to change the story of that land. He went as far as adding in his will that the land could only be sold to our church.
What looked more expensive on paper actually became cheaper within the plan of God, because divine timing and divine favour met together on the platform of obedience to the Holy Spirit.
I want this to shape the way you approach 2026. Do not let the devil deceive you that time spent waiting on God is a waste. One day of correct positioning in the presence of God can equal years of trial and error outside. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, but those steps are made clear in the place of fellowship. When you make out time to pray, to listen, to study and to obey what you hear, you are not just doing religion, you are submitting your calendar to the Master Planner. He knows which land will matter in your future, which relationship you must not miss, which opportunity you must ignore even if it looks juicy. He can see the next ten years more clearly than you can remember the last ten. So decide that this year you will give Him that one day, that one hour, that first place every time. You will soon discover that doors are opening, paths are straight and provisions are meeting you at the right junctions, because you are enjoying the advantage of a life that is ordered from the presence of God.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: What practical adjustments will you make in your schedule this year so that the Holy Spirit can order your steps with fresh, current instructions.
PRAYER: Father, help me to value time in Your presence above my own plans and let my steps this year be ordered by the light and instructions I receive from You. Amen.
