Most Christians that have become careless, compromised, and mixed up with the world have done so because the teaching on the Second Coming of Christ has not been a major emphasis in recent times in the Body of Christ.
We must not get to the extreme on either side because all some people focus on is heaven. Every teaching in the Bible must have a positive application to your present life and the application of the teaching of the Second Coming of Christ that discourages people from attaining higher education is a wrong application. That is the reason Jesus gave the parable of the talent in Matthew 25:14-30. Some people have become irresponsible in the guise of waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus.
There is this crazy idea that the rapture will deliver you from your obligations. You need to know that people that miss the rapture will remain on earth for seven years while those of us that will make the rapture will be in heaven with Jesus. Christians and unbelievers who miss the rapture will still be on earth for seven years after the rapture. So, don’t let the devil deceive you with this irresponsible thought of just loafing around while waiting for Jesus to come back. The teaching of the Second Coming of Christ that is correctly applied should produce a spirit of responsibility in Christians and not otherwise.
When we get born again, we become fit for heaven. Do you then wonder why Jesus didn’t take you to heaven after you get saved? The reason He left us here is to prepare us for the future government that He’s going to set up on the earth during the Millennial Reign. What each one of us is doing or not doing now will determine our levels and positions in the Kingdom that Jesus will set up on the earth. Don’t be found among the people that say, “We are just waiting for heaven, we don’t need to develop ourselves.”
PRAYER: I receive the help of the Holy Spirit to live responsibly to execute my earthly responsibilities and still be heavenly-fit in Jesus’ name. Amen!
