Another act that moves the hand of God in our favour is living with the understanding that God has already made provision for the purpose He has assigned to our lives. Many believers struggle with anxiety about provision because they approach life as though everything depends entirely on their personal effort. However, the Bible teaches that God never assigns a purpose without also making provision for its fulfilment. Scripture asks an important question: “Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges?” (1 Corinthians 9:7). The implication is clear: God never sends a person on an assignment and then abandons him to fund the journey alone. When a believer understands this truth, his actions begin to reflect confidence in God’s provision rather than fear about the future. This confidence is not recklessness; it is the result of revelation. It shows that the believer recognises that God is both the author of his purpose and the provider for its fulfilment.
Sometimes the greatest limitation to experiencing God’s provision is the lack of revelation about divine purpose. When people do not understand what God has called them to do, they often interpret every need through the lens of human limitation. But when a person understands God’s purpose, he begins to trust that God can move people, resources, and circumstances to accomplish what He has planned. Many testimonies throughout the body of Christ illustrate this truth: when God speaks about an assignment, He also prepares someone or something to support it. The believer who understands this does not panic when faced with challenges. Instead, he walks in quiet confidence that if God has truly spoken, He will also provide what is necessary to bring His word to pass.
This kind of faith is an act that moves the hand of God because it honours His faithfulness and acknowledges His sovereignty over every provision.
Jesus emphasised this same principle when He instructed believers to “seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). When the kingdom of God becomes the priority, provision follows as a consequence of alignment with divine purpose. The believer who lives with this understanding stops chasing provision and begins pursuing purpose. Instead of living in constant worry about tomorrow, he focuses on walking faithfully with God today. Such a life demonstrates trust in God’s character and confidence in His promises. Acts that reflect this trust move the hand of God because they show that the believer has chosen to rely on God’s faithfulness rather than human ability alone.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Do my actions show that I trust God to provide for the purpose He has given me? What area of my life requires greater confidence in God’s provision?
PRAYER: Father, deliver me from anxiety about provision and help me trust in Your faithfulness. Teach me to pursue Your purpose first, knowing that You are the provider of everything I need, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
