One of the most important questions God will ask any man is not “what happened?” but “who told you?” When Adam fell, God did not begin by addressing the act; He addressed the source of information. “Who told thee that thou wast naked?” That question exposes a foundational truth: your life will follow the voice you believe. Up until that moment, Adam and Eve depended solely on God for their understanding of reality. But the moment another voice entered, confusion began. That is still the battle today. God is speaking, the devil is speaking, circumstances are speaking; and whichever voice you accept becomes your truth.

The enemy may not always introduce new information; sometimes he simply interprets situations in a way that contradicts God. If he cannot be your source, he will try to be your interpreter. He will take what is happening around you and give it a meaning that produces fear, doubt, and unbelief. That is why two people can go through the same situation and respond differently. One listens to God and stands firm, the other listens to fear and collapses. The difference is not the situation; it is the voice they believed. Many believers are not careful about this, and they allow multiple voices to shape their thinking. But spiritual stability comes when you settle one source as final: God’s Word.

So, make a decision about your source of truth. When you hear something, ask yourself: who told me this? Does it align with what God has said? If it does not, reject it immediately. Do not allow the devil or circumstances to define your reality. Go back to the Word and let it interpret your situation. The Bible says eternal life is to know God: that means to stay connected to Him as your source of knowledge. When God becomes your primary source, your perception will be accurate, your decisions will be sound, and your faith will remain strong. From today, guard your ears and your heart. The voice you believe will shape the life you live.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

What voices am I currently allowing to shape my thinking? In my present situation, am I responding to what God has said or what circumstances are saying?

PRAYER

Father, help me to recognise and follow Your voice above all others. Deliver me from every wrong influence and establish my life on Your truth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
