One of the most powerful yet neglected factors that affect what you see is your fellowship with God. When your fellowship is strong, your vision will be clear; when it is weak, your perception will be distorted. The Bible shows us that in the place of fellowship, God asks a man a simple but weighty question: “What do you see?” That question is not casual, it is diagnostic. It reveals whether you are seeing from God’s perspective or from the pressure of circumstances. Jeremiah answered, “I see the rod of an almond tree,” and God replied, “Thou hast well seen.” That means there is a correct way to see, and it is only in fellowship that your sight is corrected. Outside of that, you may be looking, but you are not seeing well.

We saw the danger of broken fellowship in the life of Elijah. As long as he stood in the presence of God, he saw what God was saying. But when he stepped out of that place and became exposed to fear and fatigue, he began to see what Jezebel said instead. That shift in sight changed his actions immediately. This is how many believers lose ground; they step out of consistent fellowship and begin to interpret life through pressure, fear, and human reasoning. The Psalmist also testified that when he considered the prosperity of the wicked, he became confused, until he went into the sanctuary; then his understanding was corrected. Your perception cannot be trusted outside God’s presence. Fellowship is where your sight is purified.

So, take your walk with God seriously. Do not reduce it to routine; make it a place of encounter. Spend time in prayer and in the Word until your inner eyes are aligned with what God is saying. When you are confused, do not rush to conclude; go back to fellowship. When circumstances are loud, withdraw and listen again. The more you stay in God’s presence, the more accurately you will see. And when you see well, you will act well and live well. Make this your commitment: you will not allow your sight to be defined by situations, opinions, or fear; you will see only what God shows you. That is the pathway to a life of faith and victory.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

How consistent is my fellowship with God, and how is it affecting what I see? When last did I withdraw to hear clearly from Him about my situation?

PRAYER

Father, draw me deeper into fellowship with You. Open my eyes to see clearly what You are showing me, and keep my vision aligned with Your truth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
