There are two kinds of vision that operate in the life of every believer, and your destiny will follow the one you choose. When Abraham and Lot separated, both lifted their eyes, but what they saw and how they saw it were completely different. Lot lifted his eyes and saw the plain of Jordan; it was well-watered, attractive, and looked like opportunity. Abraham also lifted his eyes, but only after God spoke to him. That is the difference: one was led by appearance; the other was led by instruction. Many believers are making serious destiny decisions based on what looks good, what feels right, or what seems to be working for others. But spiritual life does not run by appearances; it runs by divine direction.

Carnal vision is driven by ambition, greed, and external attraction. It does not wait for God; it moves by impulse. That was Lot’s problem; he did not understand the source of his blessing; he only enjoyed the supply. So when it was time to choose, he chose what looked better, not what was God-ordained. That is how many people miss the plan of God; they chase “greener pastures” without asking if God planted them there. On the other hand, spiritual vision comes from a man who waits on God, listens to Him, and allows Him to define what he should see. Abraham did not just see land; he saw inheritance because God spoke first. You must learn this principle: hearing must come before seeing. If you reverse that order, you will fall into deception.

So, check the basis of your decisions. Are you following what your eyes are attracted to, or what God has instructed you to do? Not every open door is from God, and not every opportunity is divine. The fact that something is working for someone else does not mean it is God’s will for you. Many people have left their place of destiny chasing results, only to discover later that they have stepped outside God’s plan. Make up your mind: you will not live by carnal sight. Train your spirit to hear God first, then let your eyes follow what He has said. When your vision is born from God’s voice, it carries His backing. That is the kind of vision that leads to lasting fulfilment.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

Am I making decisions based on what looks good or what God has said? What recent choice in my life was driven by sight rather than instruction?

PRAYER

Lord, deliver me from carnal vision. Train my heart to hear You first and to follow only what You have set before me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
