20 June 2026: SET YOUR LIFE ON THE RIGHT FIRE – James 3:5-6; Proverbs 18:21

There is a reality you must never forget as you walk with God: your life is being set on fire daily; either by heaven or by hell, and your words determine which fire is at work. The Bible says, “the tongue is a fire… and setteth on fire the course of nature.” That means your words are not passive; they are active forces shaping the direction of your life. Many believers are praying for change, but they are speaking destruction. They are asking God for blessing, but their words are setting negative processes in motion. You cannot be releasing the wrong fire and expect the right result. Abraham’s life changed when God put the right words in his mouth. Until then, his speech was influenced by his situation, but when his language changed, the process of his miracle was activated.

You are living in a word-governed system. God created the universe by words, and He designed your life to respond to words. The question is not whether words are working; they are always working. The question is whose words are you speaking? If you speak words influenced by fear, doubt, or the devil’s suggestions, you set your life on the fire of destruction. But if you speak words chosen from the Bible, you set your life on the fire of heaven. This is why Scripture says death and life are in the power of the tongue. Your future is not accidental; it is being shaped daily by what you say. Many people blame external forces for their struggles, but they have not examined the role their own words are playing. Your mouth gives permission, to God or to the enemy, to operate in your life.

Make a conscious decision today to set your life on the right fire. Choose your words carefully. Refuse to speak what God has not said. If thoughts come that are negative, reject them and replace them with Scripture. Let your conversations, even in private, be filled with the Word of God. This is how you create an atmosphere where God can move freely. Abraham’s miracle did not happen by chance; it was the result of a process activated by his words. If you take responsibility for your speech, you will begin to see a shift in your life. The fire of heaven will begin to work in your favour, affecting your mind, your body, your circumstances, and your future. What you say is not small; it is the steering wheel of your destiny. Use it wisely.

What kind of “fire” am I setting in motion through my words daily? Which words must I stop speaking and which must I begin to declare?

PRAYER

Father, help me to set my life on the fire of Your Word. Guide my speech and let my words align with Your will, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
