20 September 2026: DO NOT WASTE A TEMPORARY SEASON – Esther 2:12; Colossians 3:23-24

The spirit of transition creates a temporary mindset that prevents people from settling long enough to receive what would make them substantial. A person may enter a place already thinking, “I will not be here for long,” and that attitude affects how he works, learns, serves and relates. He withholds commitment because he sees the season as temporary. Yet time will still pass, whether he applies himself or not. The tragedy is that when the season ends, the time is gone but the shallow attitude remains. Many people have lost valuable years because they refused to treat a temporary placement as a serious divine opportunity. Never assume that a short season is an unimportant season. Some of the most decisive deposits of God enter your life during periods you did not expect to last.

An intern may report late, do the bare minimum and leave early because he thinks he is not a permanent member of staff. A believer transferred to another city for one year may refuse to settle in a local church because he assumes the stay is too short. By the time he returns, he may have lost spiritual strength, consistency and the fathering that God intended for that season. Esther remained in one place for twelve months and submitted to preparation before appearing before the king. She did not treat the process casually. She stayed long enough for the treatment to work on her. In the same way, accumulated wisdom, anointing, competence and character require continuity. You cannot keep moving emotionally and still become deep. What you repeatedly refuse to settle down and receive will eventually become a deficiency in your future manifestation.

Wherever God places you, settle enough to receive fully. Do not confuse transition with insignificance. A short season can carry permanent consequences. Apply yourself to the work, relationships, church, training and responsibilities before you as though God has something serious to accomplish through them. Learn names, build trust, serve diligently and allow the environment to add something lasting to you. You may leave later, but do not leave empty. The spirit of transition tells you not to invest because the season will end; wisdom tells you to extract every lesson and sow every necessary seed while the door is open. Refuse the attitude of a passer-by. Let every season make you stronger, wiser and more useful. If God moves you, move in obedience, not in restlessness. If He keeps you, remain without resentment. Your life will gain weight when you stop treating important seasons as temporary interruptions and begin to recognise them as divinely arranged preparation. Give every season the seriousness required to harvest everything God placed inside it.

Am I withholding commitment because I believe my present season is temporary? What wisdom, relationship or spiritual deposit must I receive before this season ends?

PRAYER

Lord, deliver me from a temporary mindset. Help me to settle, serve and learn diligently so that no season You have arranged for me will be wasted.
