Kingdom things will give you tomorrow if you take them seriously and apply patience. They do not always produce immediate applause, visible comfort or quick money, but they carry the substance of a future that cannot be bought cheaply. I once attended a pastor’s birthday celebration where the state governor was present. At the time, I had no car, so I arrived by public transport and dressed simply because flowing native attire would have been inconvenient for the journey. When I entered, the governor looked at me and sized me up. Outwardly, I did not appear to match the environment, but when I preached, God honoured His Word. Afterwards, the governor asked for my contact details and later invited me to minister. What gave me access was not borrowed appearance but the grace and substance God had worked into me.

Later, while we were at the State House, I met a pastor who had left his ministry to become a state house pastor. He asked me to accommodate one of his guests in the apartment where I was lodged. I was surprised by the request, but I was even more concerned about the decision behind his present position. A governor can serve for only a limited number of years; after that, what next? Many Christians do not respect what will truly give them a future. They abandon calling, conviction and long-term purpose because money or temporary access appears attractive. Anything that gives you comfort today but disconnects you from divine purpose is too expensive. Do not exchange what God is building in you for a season of visibility. Follow God, not the material benefits attached to a place, person or opportunity.

Patience is one of the disciplines of Kingdom wealth. God may allow you to appear small while He develops the wisdom, character, anointing and capacity that will sustain enlargement. Do not force a lifestyle ahead of your substance or leave your assignment because another path looks easier. Respect prayer, training, obedience, integrity and the hidden seasons in which God is preparing you. The future does not belong to the person who grabs every immediate advantage; it belongs to the one who can discern what carries tomorrow. Let God work His wealth into your life in His own order and time. When an opportunity comes, ask whether it strengthens or weakens your obedience. Refuse shortcuts that require you to abandon conviction. If you stay faithful, what God has placed inside you will eventually create room for you. Your present simplicity may not impress people, but divine substance will outlive temporary positions, political seasons and material displays. Stay where God has placed you, keep growing, and allow patience to complete its work before seeking public recognition.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

Have I been tempted to exchange long-term divine purpose for immediate comfort or visibility? Which hidden Kingdom process must I continue to honour patiently?

PRAYER

Father, help me to respect what will give me a lasting future. Strengthen me to remain faithful, patient and obedient without yielding to temporary attractions.
