31 May 2026: LIVE READY FOR YOUR FINAL ACCOUNT – Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10

As we come to the final day of this month’s devotional journey, it is important to remember the ultimate reason God desires to reveal and develop the duty of your calling. One day, every believer will stand before the Lord to give account of the life he lived and the opportunities he received. The Bible makes it clear that each of us will give account of ourselves to God (Romans 14:12). This reality should not produce fear in the heart of a sincere believer, but it should awaken seriousness about how we live our lives. Time is moving forward whether we acknowledge it or not, and the seasons God gives us today are opportunities that will not remain forever.

Throughout this month, we have examined many keys that help identify the duty of your calling: the needs God places in your heart, the responsibilities that stretch you, the burdens you perceive within God’s work, and the shaping process He uses to refine your character. None of these lessons are meant to remain theoretical knowledge. They are invitations from God to live intentionally and responsibly. A believer who understands this will regularly examine his life before God, asking whether he is responding faithfully to the opportunities and instructions he has received. Just as students take mock examinations before the final exam, wise believers examine their lives continually while there is still time to make adjustments and corrections.

Therefore, let the conclusion of this devotional not mark the end of the conversation but the beginning of a deeper walk with God concerning your calling. Take time to revisit the questions raised throughout this month and answer them sincerely before the Lord. Yield your life completely to His shaping hand and allow Him to develop every capacity He placed within you. If you remain humble, obedient, and responsive to His leading, your life will gradually align with His purpose. And when the day comes to give account before Him, you will be able to stand with joy, knowing that you responded faithfully to the duties of the calling He entrusted to you.

If I were to give account to God today, would I be confident that I have responded faithfully to the duties of my calling? What adjustments should I begin to make now while there is still time?

PRAYER

Father, thank You for the lessons You have taught me throughout this journey. Help me to live with the awareness that my life belongs to You and that one day I will give account for it. Shape me, guide me, and empower me to fulfil every duty of the calling You have placed upon my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
