The Holy Spirit is like the representative of a foreign partner in a business venture sited in another country who always sits in on board meetings to give the viewpoint of the foreign partner on every decision.
The Holy Spirit presents Heaven’s interest on earth, and He is always at hand to give you the view of God on the situation around you. That gives your faith a tremendous boost! The Holy Spirit makes the intercessions of the Lord Jesus on our behalf real in our lives.
Hebrews 7:25 says, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them”. (NKJV)
“Save to the uttermost” means “to make sound completely”. That is what Jesus does. He is able to make those who keep coming to God through Him completely sound. He does this work of making sound by carrying on a ministry of intercession on behalf of each believer. But as we know, this ministry is going on in heaven. For it to become efficacious or result in soundness for the believer, there must be a way to make the results of that intercession real in the believer’s life. That is where the Holy Ghost comes in.
The Holy Ghost is the One that keeps bringing us unto God through Jesus. He daily makes all the things that the intercessory ministry of Jesus does on our behalf real in our lives.
PRAYER: Lord, I pray for a deeper understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit in the place of intercession in Jesus’ name. Amen!
