26 Dec 2021: SEXUAL MATTERS IN MARRIAGE (2) – Ecclesiastes 9:8, 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Marriage is not a license to commit rape; your wife needs some emotional bonding. Let your colleagues at work know the ringtone you have customised for your wife and when she calls, they should give you some space and allow you to talk to her. Anybody that doesn’t allow you to do that is out to break your marriage.

Some professions and careers destroy marriages by the excessive time they spend at work; an example is the banking sector. They are destroying the marriages of many young women, giving them financial targets they can’t meet righteously. Only God knows how many people come to churches today that are in adultery but are getting promotions from it; the church should not promote that.

I counsel couples to talk to each other; you must carry your wife’s photograph around, put it on your desk or on your phone as your wallpaper. Show everybody, including your female colleagues. Don’t hide the fact that you are married; wear your ring very prominently. Don’t forget your ring at home, whether you are a husband or wife. Don’t let someone else snatch your husband or wife. Don’t engage in conversations of a sexual nature with someone you are not married to. Don’t do that!

Pastors should not counsel a woman that is getting on sexual matters, transfer her to a female; your wife preferably or transfer it to a female minister that can handle that. You can’t be listening to sexual matters with another person that you are not married to and it doesn’t affect you, it will. The Bible says flee from all appearances of evil (1 Thess. 5:22). If you hear a man of God say, “I am immune against temptation,” that man is already living in sin; he is only saying that to distract you from what he is doing. If you hear a man of God say pornography is not wrong, he is living in sin. Pornography is wrong. If you practice pornography, you are stealing the intimacy that should be between you and your husband or your wife.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to remain faithful to my marriage vow, come what may.
