There is a principle in the dealings of God that many believers do not understand: you cannot receive what you have not first conceived. God took Abraham out and said, “Look now toward heaven… so shall thy seed be.” Before Isaac ever came, Abraham had to see something. Until then, he kept saying, “I go childless.” You see, God will not force His promise into your life if your inner picture is still contradicting Him. Many people are asking God for change, but they are still holding on to the same old image inside. If your imagination has not accepted God’s promise, your life cannot manifest it. Faith begins where sight changes, not physical sight, but spiritual sight. That is why the Bible says Abraham “against hope believed in hope… according to that which was spoken.” He saw what God said before he held what God promised.

You must understand that God designed you in such a way that your life moves in the direction of your dominant imagination. When men began to build the tower of Babel, God Himself said nothing would be restrained from them which they had imagined doing. That means imagination is not a small thing; it is a powerful force in destiny. If something God-inspired enters your heart, it is because there is capacity somewhere around your life to bring it to pass. The problem is that many believers abort divine possibilities because they never allow themselves to see it fully. They call it “daydreaming,” but God calls it the beginning of manifestation. You cannot walk into what you are afraid to imagine, and you cannot possess what you have refused to picture.

So, take responsibility for what you allow your mind to hold. If God says you are healed, see yourself whole. If He says you will succeed, see yourself rising. If He says you will become, then begin to picture that becoming. Do not wait for evidence before you believe; produce the evidence inside first. Your imagination must be fed with the Word until it becomes stronger than your circumstances. This is where many people fail; they pray, but they do not see; they confess, but they do not conceive. From today, discipline your mind to agree with God. Let His Word paint your future. When your inner picture is correct, your life will begin to move toward it without struggle.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

What has God said about my life that I have not yet accepted in my imagination? What picture am I allowing to dominate my thinking daily?

PRAYER

Lord, sanctify my imagination by Your Word. Help me to conceive what You have spoken until it becomes my reality, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
