Listen while praying, commuting, or preparing for the day. There is a subtle but dangerous moment in the walk of faith; the moment when symptoms begin to speak louder than the promise of God. Many believers start well; they receive the Word, believe it, confess it, and even act on it. But somewhere along the line, they begin to observe what is happening around them more than what God has said. That is where faith begins to weaken. The Bible shows us this clearly in the life of Peter. He stepped out of the boat on the strength of Jesus’ Word and began to walk on water, but the moment he “saw the wind boisterous,” he became afraid and began to sink. The wind did not stop him; the shift in focus did. This is the same strategy the enemy uses today. He does not need to change your miracle; he only needs to change your attention.
Symptoms have nothing to do with the validity of God’s promise. When Jesus spoke to the fig tree, nothing changed immediately, yet He did not relate to it as though it was still alive. The change had already taken place at the root. In the same way, when faith is released based on God’s Word, the real work has already begun in the spirit. What you see afterward is only a matter of time. But if you begin to relate with the situation based on what is visible, you interrupt the process. Many people lose their miracle not because God did not act, but because they abandoned their stand when symptoms persisted. The devil knows this, so he keeps presenting evidence to make you doubt what has already been settled.
Decide not to let symptoms redefine your reality. Keep your eyes on the Word that brought you out of the boat in the first place. Do not analyse the wind, do not measure the waves; stay with the instruction that brought you into faith. If God has spoken, that is enough. Refuse to go back to the realm of fear after stepping into the realm of faith. Your miracle is not determined by what you see; it is determined by what God has said. If you maintain your focus, you will complete your walk. Like Peter, you have already started; do not let distraction make you sink. Stay with the Word, and you will arrive at your testimony.
THOUGHT TO PONDER
What “wind” am I currently observing that is weakening my faith? How can I deliberately return my focus to God’s Word today?
PRAYER
Lord, help me to keep my eyes on You and not on my circumstances. Strengthen my faith to remain steady until Your promise is fully manifested, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
