God Will Not Change To Suit You
Many believers unconsciously shape a version of God that is comfortable to them. They imagine a God that adjusts His standards to their preferences, a God that overlooks disobedience as long as outward activities continue. But the God of Scripture does not bend to human opinion. He is who He is, and He will not shift His ground to accommodate our convenience. In every generation, men must come to terms with this reality. You do not redesign God; you submit to Him. This is one of the foundational truths you must settle if you are going to discover and fulfil your calling in the Body of Christ. Your destiny cannot be built on the God you imagine but on the God who actually exists.
This understanding becomes very important when you begin to recognise the roles God plays in your life. He is not only the One who blesses or answers prayers; He is first the One who called you. Before you were born, God already had a purpose and an assignment for your life. As you respond to that call and obey Him step by step, He becomes the One who justifies and supports you in your journey. He provides for you along the way and sustains you while you walk through the responsibilities of your calling. But there is another role that many believers forget: at the end of the journey, God will be the Judge. Every life will eventually stand before Him to give account. This reality should shape the way you approach your calling and the duties connected to it.
Understanding this also helps you see the difference between provision and reward. Provision is what God supplies while you are walking in obedience on the journey. Reward is what God gives after the journey is completed. Many people confuse the two and begin to pursue provision as though it were the ultimate goal. They measure success by what they possess instead of by how faithfully they have obeyed God. Yet a car, clothes, money, or comfort are not rewards; they are provisions meant to sustain you while you run your race. If you labour only for provision, you may lose the eternal reward God prepared for you. Therefore, keep your focus clear: serve God faithfully, fulfil your duties in His house, and live your life with the awareness that one day you will stand before Him to give account.
THOUGHT TO PONDER
Am I relating with the true God of Scripture or with a version shaped by my preferences? Am I pursuing eternal reward or merely temporary provision?
PRAYER
Father, help me to walk in reverence and truth before You. Deliver me from pursuing temporary things and align my heart with the eternal reward of fulfilling my calling, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
