Acts That Prove Your Love For God

Another act that moves the hand of God is the act that demonstrates genuine love for Him. Many believers speak about loving God, but love is not proven by words alone. Love is revealed through actions, sacrifices, and priorities. The Bible records that “Solomon loved the LORD” (1 Kings 3:3), and one of the ways this love was expressed was through the sacrifices he offered before God. Solomon went to the high place at Gibeon and offered a thousand burnt offerings to the Lord (1 Kings 3:4). This act was not simply a religious ceremony; it was an expression of devotion. It showed that God mattered deeply to him. Love for God often expresses itself through acts that demonstrate honour, sacrifice, and commitment. When such acts arise from sincere affection for God rather than from a desire for rewards, they attract His attention in a powerful way.

Many people relate with God primarily because of what they hope to receive from Him. They give, serve, or pray mainly because they expect a return. While God does bless obedience, the foundation of our relationship with Him must be love rather than calculation. God is not a machine that responds mechanically to offerings. He looks beyond the outward act to the motive behind it. When Solomon offered those sacrifices, it was the love behind the act that moved the heart of God. That night God appeared to him and said, “Ask what I shall give thee” (1 Kings 3:5). This moment demonstrates a powerful principle: when a believer’s actions are motivated by genuine love for God, heaven often responds generously. Acts that are driven by love rather than selfish expectation move the hand of God in unique ways.

True love for God expresses itself in practical ways. It is revealed in the time we devote to Him, the energy we invest in serving Him, and the sacrifices we willingly make for His purposes. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Love for God therefore becomes visible through obedience and devotion. When a believer serves God faithfully even when it is inconvenient, or honours Him even when no one is watching, such acts carry great weight before heaven. God recognises the love behind those actions and often responds with favour and blessings that exceed human expectation. When believers cultivate a genuine love for God and express it through their daily lives, they position themselves for the powerful movement of God’s hand in their favour.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

Do my actions toward God come from genuine love, or mainly from the desire to receive blessings? What practical act today can express my love for Him?

PRAYER

Father, help me to love You sincerely and deeply. Let my service, obedience, and sacrifices flow from genuine devotion so that my life continually honours You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
