11 May 2025: WHEN PREPARATION MEETS OPPORTUNITY – Proverbs 22:29; 2 Timothy 2:15

Spiritual discipline prepares you to seize divine opportunities effectively. Proverbs 22:29 says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Your readiness for great opportunities is not determined now they arrive but by the consistent spiritual disciplines you practice daily.

Many miss opportunities because they wait until the opportunity arises before preparing. Spiritual effectiveness demands constant readiness, shaped by consistent discipline. As I often remind you, Joseph did not start preparing the moment Pharaoh called him. He had consistently honoured God even in the pit and the prison, so when his moment of opportunity came, he was ready to step into destiny.

You must continually prepare yourself through regular prayer, studying the Scriptures, and maintaining close fellowship with God.

Spiritual discipline ensures you are always positioned to act decisively when God-given opportunities arise.

Take stock today of your spiritual preparation. Are you living prepared, or are you delaying your growth until opportunities become visible? Remember, your readiness today determines your usefulness tomorrow. Embrace discipline consistently, and you will find yourself ready when God opens doors of opportunity for you.

PRAYER: Father, help me to remain consistently disciplined so I can seize every opportunity You bring my way. Prepare my heart and life so that I may effectively serve Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
