15 April 2025: THE DANGER OF A NEGLECTED SPIRITUAL LIFE – Proverbs 24:10; Galatians 6:8

Neglecting your spiritual life can have disastrous consequences, leaving you weak and vulnerable to life’s challenges. Proverbs 24:10 warns, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Spiritual weakness results from neglecting your spirit, making it difficult to withstand trials and temptations effectively.

Your spiritual strength is directly connected to your spiritual nourishment. If your spirit man remains unfed, it weakens gradually and becomes susceptible to fear, doubt, and confusion. Many believers who falter spiritually during difficult seasons do so because they have failed to consistently nurture their spiritual life through prayer and God’s Word.

Galatians 6:7-8 offers insight into spiritual health: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap… he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

Your daily spiritual practices—such as prayer, study, and meditation—are investments into your spirit, building the strength necessary to withstand adversity.

Take responsibility today to guard against spiritual neglect. Cultivate daily habits that strengthen your inner man and prepare you to overcome life’s inevitable challenges. By consistently feeding your spirit, you ensure that you remain strong, effective, and victorious in every season of life.
