08 February 2025: SEASONS OF PREPARATION – Ecclesiastes 3:11; James 1:4

FEvery season in life has a purpose, and preparation is often a hidden yet critical phase in God’s plan for your destiny. Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us, “He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”

Preparation seasons may seem slow or challenging, but they are where God equips you for the next stage of your journey.

Consider Joseph’s years in Potiphar’s house and prison. Though far from the fulfilment of his dreams, those years were seasons of preparation. Joseph learned leadership, integrity, and dependence on God—qualities that would serve him as Pharaoh’s second-in-command. Similarly, Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness tending sheep before leading Israel. God uses these seasons to shape character, teach obedience, and instil faith.

James 1:4 says, “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Waiting is not wasted time when you trust in God’s process. It is in these hidden seasons that God refines your skills, strengthens your faith, and prepares you for greater assignments. Instead of despising the preparation, embrace it with gratitude, knowing that God is working all things for your good.

Ask yourself: What lessons is God teaching me in this season? How can I maximise this time to grow spiritually and practically? Trust that His timing is perfect and that He will bring you into your purpose at the appointed time.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Are you embracing your current season as a time of preparation? How can you align with God’s work in your life during this time?

PRAYER: Lord, help me to embrace the season of preparation You have placed me in. Teach me patience and trust in Your perfect timing as You equip me for my destiny. Amen.
