Every upward movement comes with a cost. To come up higher, you must be willing to sacrifice comfort, ease, and even relationships. Jesus made it clear that following Him requires counting the cost and carrying your cross (Luke 14:28-30).
Higher living demands a commitment to God’s will over your own desires.
This may involve waking up earlier to pray, saying no to distractions, or stepping into unfamiliar roles that stretch your faith. Jesus said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). The cost may seem great, but the reward is far greater—eternal life and a closer walk with Him.
Reflect on areas where God is calling you to surrender more. What habits or priorities need to shift to align with His purpose? True discipleship is marked by a willingness to sacrifice temporary comfort for eternal reward.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: What sacrifices is God asking you to make to come up higher? How can you take practical steps to say yes to His call today?
PRAYER: Lord, I choose to surrender my will for Yours. Help me embrace the cost of higher living, knowing Your plans for me are perfect. Amen.
