You must know that marriage goes beyond sex, household chores or having children, although children are part of it because God is looking for a holy seed (Mal. 2:15b). But the “whys” of God for marriage are beyond all that. I will highlight four “whys” of God for marriage in this section.
Reason One – To Take a Man to His Peak
Marriage is designed to take a man to his peak. You can’t reach your peak alone and you can’t be all that you are supposed to be alone.
The Maker of heaven and earth said, “It is not good that man should be alone, I will make an help meet for him (Gen. 2:18).” He didn’t say, “I will give you a helpmate, flatmate, classmate, or bedmate.” It is not M–A–T–E, it is M– E–E–T which means suitable or fit for the man.
Even when it came to the time to create man, God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness (Gen. 1:26).” Even Jesus when He came to the earth didn’t run His ministry alone but went to the river to be baptised by John the Baptist, the heavens opened, and the Holy Ghost came upon Him. So, when a man threatens his wife that he can do without her, it is a lie because he can’t do without her.
PRAYER: Lord, help my marriage to fulfil the scripture of two putting ten thousand to flight. We will do more together, we will have more, and we will be more in Jesus’ name. Amen!
