The devil only supplies temptation but the temptation is useless if there is no lust inside you. What the Lordship of Jesus and the will of God do for us is to take those things inside us that the devil can grab a hold of or use to bring something evil.
That is why Jesus said, “…the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” (John 14:30, KJV). Are there things in you that the devil’s temptation can connect with and attract? You had better know for yourself now what those things are inside you. The devil may not yet know, but God knows and God is preparing you through the ministrations and leadings of the Holy Spirit in your life to strengthen you against them.
For example, some people have weakness around girls, some around glory, and others around gold. Those are three major things the devil uses to cut a man down especially if he is anointed. For some people, it is glory and fame. Once he is honoured, he doesn’t care. He can do anything to sustain and keep that title or office.
Jesus as our Saviour takes us out of the world, but as our Lord, He takes the world out of us. It is the Lordship of Jesus that takes out that love of the world and for the things of this world. Without the Lordship of Jesus, some things of this world that you love will shake you somewhere.
PRAYER: Jesus, I welcome your Lordship. Empty me of every lust as I submit to your spirit. Amen.
