22 September 2026: BUILD WHAT CANNOT BE WITHDRAWN – Proverbs 4:7; Psalm 20:7

Financial independence is more than being free from debt. It is the development of a mind that is not easily entangled, manipulated or controlled by the systems of the world. A brilliant person may still fail because brilliance does not automatically produce wisdom. The goal is not merely to have more money, but to reduce your dependence on what the world uses to control people. Some people build their entire lives around official cars, staff housing and other employment benefits, yet never prepare for the day those benefits stop. When the job ends, the lifestyle collapses because nothing personal was built. Do not allow temporary privileges to deceive you into believing you are secure. Financial independence begins when you start taking responsibility for your future under God.

When my wife and I were courting, someone once showed us a briefcase filled with money. It did not move her because she had been trained by a principled father. That kind of upbringing protects a person from being impressed by wealth without character. You must become independent of the ungodly systems that use money, comfort and access to bargain for your conscience. Employment is useful, but do not allow the perks attached to it to prevent you from building savings, acquiring assets and developing skills that remain yours. A professor may live in institutional accommodation for many years and still end up stranded if he never planned beyond the campus. Wisdom teaches you to enjoy legitimate benefits without making them the foundation of your identity or security.

Begin to ask yourself what would remain if your present job, allowance or privilege disappeared. Build something that cannot be withdrawn by an employer. Reduce unnecessary dependence, save deliberately and acquire training that can travel with you. Your confidence must not be in the systems of men, but in God and the wisdom He gives you to prepare. Financial independence does not mean rebellion against structures or refusal of help; it means refusing to be helpless without them. It gives you the freedom to obey God without being held hostage by fear of losing material support. Make up your mind that no ungodly offer, relationship or benefit will own your future. Live responsibly today, but keep building for tomorrow. God desires to place resources in your hand, yet He also expects you to develop the maturity that prevents those resources from becoming chains. A free spirit, a disciplined mind and a prepared future are part of true wealth. This preparation also protects your calling. A person who has no margin may know what God is asking but feel unable to obey because every decision is tied to a salary, a house or an allowance. Build enough inner and financial strength to say yes to God without panic.

What would remain if my current employment benefits disappeared? Which personal asset, skill or reserve must I begin building so that temporary privileges do not control my future?

PRAYER

Father, deliver me from unhealthy dependence on worldly systems. Give me wisdom to build lasting capacity and the freedom to obey You without fear.
