24 July 2026: EXERCISE YOUR AUTHORITY – Luke 10:19; James 4:7

It is not enough to know that the devil is defeated, you must know that you have authority over him. Many believers accept that Jesus defeated the devil, but they do not realise that this victory has been handed over to them to enforce. The Bible says, “Behold, I give unto you power… over all the power of the enemy.” That statement was not made to a select group; it applies to every born-again believer. You are not trying to gain authority; you have already been given authority. The issue is whether you know it and whether you are using it. Authority unused is authority wasted.

The devil’s strength today is deception, and his strategy is to make you feel powerless. If he can keep you ignorant of your authority, he can continue to operate in your life illegally. But once you understand your position in Christ, everything changes. You stop begging God to do what He has already empowered you to do. Instead, you rise and take your place. When Jesus sent out His disciples, they returned with joy, saying that even demons were subject to them in His name. That same authority is available to you today. The name of Jesus is not just something you mention casually; it is a legal authority in the spirit realm.

So, begin to exercise your authority deliberately. When the enemy tries to bring fear, sickness, confusion, or oppression, do not tolerate it. Resist him in the name of Jesus. Stand your ground on the Word of God and refuse to give him space. The Bible says he will flee from you, not from God, but from you. That means you have a role to play. Stop waiting passively for change and start enforcing the victory Christ has already secured. From today, see yourself as one who has authority, speak like one who has authority, and act like one who has authority. That is how you live in consistent victory.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

Do I actively exercise my authority in Christ, or do I wait passively for God to act? In what area of my life do I need to start resisting the devil boldly?

PRAYER

Father, help me to understand and use the authority You have given me. Teach me to stand firm and resist every work of the enemy, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
