God is not withholding anything from you. Many believers live as though they are trying to convince God to release something, but the Scripture shows a different picture. The Bible says, “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure…” That means everything God has promised is already made available by grace. Grace is God is giving hand; faith is your receiving hand. If something is not manifesting in your life, it is not because God has refused to give; it is because faith has not yet taken hold of what grace has provided. This understanding will correct many wrong prayers and frustrations. You are not begging God to act; you are positioning yourself to receive what He has already offered.

Now see the wisdom of God in this arrangement. If the promises of God were accessed by money, intelligence, or background, then only a few people would qualify. But God made it of faith so that it can be available to everyone. It does not matter where you are coming from or what your current condition is; faith gives you equal access. That is why no believer has an excuse to remain without the manifestation of God’s goodness. Faith is not bought; it is built. The Bible says faith comes by hearing the Word of God. That means every time you expose yourself to God’s Word, you are strengthening your capacity to receive from Him. Many believers struggle not because God is unwilling, but because they are trying to receive spiritual things with natural methods. You cannot use effort, struggle, or human wisdom to access divine promises; only faith can reach into the realm of grace and bring those promises into reality.

This also explains why performance-based Christianity produces frustration. Some believers think that if they do enough good works, they can earn God’s promises. But the Bible is clear: the promise is not through the law but through the righteousness of faith. Good works have their place, but they are not the channel for receiving God’s promises on the earth. If you build your relationship with God on performance, you will constantly feel condemned because you will never feel good enough. But faith shifts your focus from your effort to God’s provision. It allows you to receive not because you deserve it, but because God has made it available. This is where rest begins in the life of a believer. When you understand that grace has already provided, you stop struggling to make things happen and start exercising faith to receive what is already yours.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

Am I trying to earn what God has already offered by grace? What promise of God do I need to begin receiving by faith instead of striving for?

PRAYER

Father, open my eyes to see what Your grace has already provided. Teach me to receive by faith and not depend on my effort, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
