20 May 2026: DISCERN THE NEW ROLES EMERGING AROUND YOU – Ecclesiastes 3:1; Exodus 31:1-5

Another important question in identifying the duty of your calling is to observe the new roles that are emerging around the work God has connected you to. As a ministry, organisation, or spiritual family grows, new responsibilities and opportunities naturally appear. These new roles are not accidental developments; they are often indicators of fresh dimensions of God’s work that require people to step forward and carry new responsibilities. A believer who understands this principle will watch carefully and ask whether one of those emerging roles is connected to his own calling. Growth in God’s work always creates new spaces where people can discover and express their divine assignments.

When a leader or ministry begins to move into new areas of obedience, those transitions usually place new demands on the people connected to that work. In the early days of a ministry, a leader may handle many responsibilities personally. But as the work expands, specialised roles become necessary. In Scripture we see examples such as Bezaleel, whom God specially endowed with wisdom and skill to design the tabernacle under Moses’ leadership (Exodus 31:1-5). Moses carried the prophetic leadership of Israel, but the architectural and artistic work belonged to someone whose calling was different from his. In the same way, as God expands a ministry or assignment, He raises individuals whose specific calling is connected to those emerging needs.

Therefore, you must learn to observe carefully what God is doing around you. Are new responsibilities appearing that require greater skill, prayer, creativity, or leadership? Do these developments stir something within your heart that draws you toward deeper involvement? Sometimes the emergence of a new role is God’s way of inviting you into another dimension of your calling. If you remain passive or assume that others will handle it, you may miss the opportunity. But if you respond with sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and willingness to grow, those new roles can become doors through which your calling unfolds more clearly.

What new responsibilities or roles are appearing around the work God has connected me to? Could one of them be pointing to a deeper dimension of my calling?

PRAYER

Father, open my eyes to recognise the opportunities You are creating around me. Give me wisdom and readiness to step into every role that aligns with the calling You have placed upon my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
