Many believers assume that victory comes only through confrontation, arguments, or visible strength. However, victory against the enemy can be obtained by the mercies of God. Mercy is one of God’s most effective strategies against opposition. Mercy is not passive; it is a Holy Ghost craft. When subtle enemies scheme, when plans are hatched in secret, and conspiracies form quietly, mercy goes to work silently but decisively. This is why the devil often underestimates mercy. He understands power, but he does not fully comprehend mercy’s ability to overturn his designs. Mercy works beneath the surface, rearranging outcomes, confusing enemies, and positioning God’s people beyond harm.
God does not always remove enemies immediately; sometimes He responds by setting a table in their presence. David did not say the enemies disappeared, but that God prepared a table before him while they watched. That is mercy at work. Mercy shifts the focus from fear to provision, from threat to overflow. While enemies plan, God anoints. While opposition gathers, mercy causes goodness and favour to follow you relentlessly. Haman’s gallows were meant for Mordecai, but mercy reversed the verdict and turned the enemy’s strategy against him. Mercy does not only protect; it triumphs. It ensures that the wicked do not have the final word.
God’s mercy carries a built-in defence system that guards His people whether the enemy is open or hidden.
Your responsibility is to stop being distracted by opposition and start focusing on the table God has set. When enemies show up, look for fresh anointing. When resistance rises, expect mercy to take the lead. Fear loses its grip when you recognise that mercy is standing guard over your life. You may feel worn out or overwhelmed, but mercy does not measure strength the way men do. It sustains you until triumph becomes evident. Refuse to panic at the noise of opposition. God’s strategy has already been activated. Mercy will follow you, overtake you, and keep you standing while the enemy falls. As you move forward, rest in the confidence that no scheme is stronger than mercy, and no enemy can outrun what God has assigned to follow you all your life.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Do I focus more on my enemies than on the table God has prepared? How will my response change if I trust in God’s mercy as a strategy for my defence?
PRAYER: Father, thank You for surrounding me with Your mercy. Help me to rest in Your strategy and walk confidently, knowing You are my defence, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
