As we complete this devotional, when talk about fruits, we must talk about roots. You cannot bear fruits as a Christian if you are not correctly born again in the first place. Jesus told Nicodemus that except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. There are many people who love church, love Christian language and even love devotionals, but they have never truly crossed from death to life. They like the ideas in the Bible, but the life of the Bible has not entered them. That is why, no matter how much they try, Christianity looks like struggle. The truths they are reading remain theory because they have not experienced the Person behind those truths. New birth is not joining a church, it is not answering an altar call because your friends went out. It is a real experience where the Holy Spirit opens your understanding, you see yourself as a sinner who cannot save himself, and you reach out in faith to Jesus who died and shed His blood for you personally.
The Father wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. There is an order there. Salvation first, then knowledge of truth and fruitfulness follow. When a man is correctly born again, something happens inside him. Old things pass away, all things become new. His spirit becomes alive to God. The Bible stops being a story book and begins to talk to him. Prayer stops being punishment and becomes communion. There is a witness in his heart that he now belongs to God. That is the foundation for everything we have been teaching about vital union, programmes of the future and manifestation. Without that foundation, you can try to copy the disciplines and language of Christians, but it will be empty religion. Maybe you grew up in church and you cannot remember a definite day or moment, that is not the problem. The real issue is this: did you ever come to God, aware that you were a sinner, and consciously receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour with understanding in your heart.
If you only followed the crowd or repeated words you did not understand, you need to settle it.
If you are reading this and you’re unsure of your salvation, you can settle it now. Say this from your heart: “Father, I come to You in Jesus’ name. I know I’m a sinner and I cannot save myself. But Jesus died for me that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour. Forgive all my sins, wash me with Your blood, and make me whole. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Amen.” If you made that decision, send your testimony to info@dreamcentre.org. More importantly, start building your life in the Word, and let the grace of God now in you begin to produce righteousness and victory daily.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: If you strip away church activity and language, what concrete salvation experience can you point to between you and Jesus Himself? What will you do with any doubt or emptiness you discover in your heart, hide it and continue the show or humble yourself and let God settle your foundation?
PRAYER: Lord, expose every false foundation and give me a clear, genuine experience of salvation that becomes the root of a truly fruitful Christian life. Amen.
