09 January 2026: GROW IN INCREASING DEPENDENCE ON GOD – John 15:5; Romans 8:26

Without God you can do nothing. Jesus said, I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abides in Me and I in him is the one that brings forth much fruit, for without Me ye can do nothing. That is not a memory verse to decorate your Bible, it is a law you must build your life on if you want to succeed with God. The only thing you can truly do well without Him is to fail. When this truth enters your heart, it will change the way you live. You will stop boasting in your intelligence and start leaning on His wisdom. You will stop admiring people who live as if they do not need God and you will begin to see dependence on God as real strength, not weakness. One of the first places this dependence will show is in your prayer life.

Prayerlessness is not a sign that you are busy, it is a manifestation of pride. When a man says, I forgot to pray, it is not memory problem, it is an attitude problem. If your life depended on taking a particular tablet three times a day, you would not forget, because you know you will die if you miss it. That is why the devil likes prayerless Christians, because they are living as if they can run their lives without God. The most powerful prayers rise from people who are abiding in the Holy Spirit. Romans chapter eight verse twenty six tells us that we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit helps our infirmities. It is pride to think you always know what to pray.

Intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit brings you into accurate prayer, because He shows you the real issues and the real targets.

I want you to embrace this humility of depending on God as you move through 2026. Stop trying to impress heaven as if you are a self made champion. Do not wait for crisis before you pray. Start each day by acknowledging Him, asking for His help and listening for His instructions. Carry that sense of dependence into your work, your studies, your decisions and your relationships. When you are tempted to rush into an action, pause and ask, Have I checked with my Vine on this matter. The highest wisdom in the kingdom is to live as a man or woman that knows he cannot do anything without God. That kind of man will abide, will pray and will follow the Holy Spirit closely, and his life will show the fruits of divine backing that human effort can never produce.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Have you been living and planning as if you can run your life without God or as someone who truly believes that without Him you can do nothing. What concrete changes will you make in your prayer life and daily routine this year to show that you are genuinely depending on God.

PRAYER: Father, deliver me from pride and prayerlessness, teach me to depend on You in all things and let my life this year show the fruits of Your backing. Amen.
