One of the major reasons you must stay in vital fellowship with God this year is that you do not know tomorrow, but He does. When we established a branch of the church in Osogbo, Nigeria, the Lord gave me a specific instruction to come on a particular Sunday. When I arrived, I met a very serious situation of spiritual warfare inside that church. The young pastor over the branch did not even know that the enemy had infiltrated the congregation. It was vital fellowship that guided my response. The Lord did not tell me to hold a committee meeting. He told me to take a hands on approach. I handled the service from opening prayer to benediction for some time. Later He instructed that we should have a special worship time and gather everyone round the altar. As the worship rose, the anointing built. Then the Holy Spirit moved in a strong way and there was an explosion of His presence. People began to experience deliverance from hidden demonic operations that had been sitting quietly inside that church.
That experience reminded me again that if you will let the Holy Ghost lead you, He will bring you into manifestations that your intelligence can never plan. The future is largely unknown to you. Your best course of action is not to guess your way through, but to follow God who already knows the end from the beginning. Every other attempt to understand the future outside Him is guesswork and predictions that can fail. As a Christian your greatest advantage in the market of life is the Holy Spirit.
You must carry His presence into your classroom, your office, your business and your environment.
I want you to learn from this as you continue in this new year. The Holy Spirit is not an extra decoration in your Christian life. He is your Guide, your Strategist and your greatest advantage in a world that does not know tomorrow. Many people are blaming the devil, but they have not given the Holy Ghost time to speak. One day of real fellowship with God can give you more advantage than many years of running around in your own strength. Do not push prayer and communion to the back corner of your life and then expect accuracy in destiny matters. Bring your studies, your work, your emotions and your relationships under the influence of the Helper. Let Him correct wrong directions early. Let Him cut off what cannot follow you into your future and connect you to what God has written concerning you. If you will stay in vital fellowship, you will find that God has already arranged people, places and opportunities on your path. The Holy Spirit will simply bring you into them one by one and your story will be a testimony of divine arrangement, not human trial and error.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: In what areas of your life are you still trying to guess your way into the future instead of following the Holy Spirit. What practical decisions will you make from today to give Him more room to guide you in your studies, work, relationships and ministry.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, help me to stay in living fellowship with You and lead me into the people, places and opportunities You have arranged for my destiny. Amen.
