Prayer is not sustained by human strength. Romans 8:26–27 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” One reason many Christians are weary in prayer is because they depend on their brain or emotions. Effective prayer requires the help of the Holy Spirit. He supplies direction, burden, and utterance beyond what our natural mind can produce.
Jude 1:20 commands, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Praying in the Spirit charges your inner man like a battery connected to power. It takes you beyond shallow words into divine mysteries. When you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit bypasses your limited understanding and plugs you directly into the mind of God. That is why hell fears Spirit-filled prayer — it is unpredictable, unstoppable, and unanswerable by demons.
Your prayer life will remain shallow if you only pray what you understand; but when you yield to the Spirit, your prayers become weighty, strategic, and unstoppable.
Beloved, cultivate the habit of leaning on the Holy Spirit in prayer. Do not rush into God’s presence with a shopping list; wait for the Spirit to stir your heart. Many breakthroughs are lost because believers pray from their heads, not from their spirits. Allow Him to lay burdens on you and pray them through until peace comes. Spend time daily praying in tongues—not just in church, but in your private altar, while driving, or walking. The more you engage Him, the stronger and clearer your prayer life becomes. When you let the Holy Spirit help your infirmities, He will carry you into dimensions of intercession you never thought possible. Today, yield afresh to Him, and you will find new fire on your altar of prayer.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I trying to sustain prayer by my strength, or am I allowing the Holy Spirit to help me? How consistent am I in praying in tongues daily?
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, I yield to Your help. Carry my weaknesses, stir my heart, and empower me to pray according to the will of God in every season. Amen.
