19 November 2025: THE LAW OF AGREEMENT IN PRAYER (1) – Matthew 18:19, Amos 3:3

One of the most overlooked keys to effective prayer is the law of agreement. Jesus said in Matthew 18:19, “If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” Heaven honours united asking. Agreement is more than being in the same place; it is being of one mind, one heart, and one faith. That is why Amos 3:3 asks, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Agreement in prayer removes strife, silences doubt, and releases multiplied power. One person’s prayer is powerful, but two in covenantal agreement can shake situations.

The devil knows this, which is why he fights unity in homes, marriages, churches, and leadership teams. If he can sow suspicion, offence, and strife, he has successfully disarmed the force of agreement. Many couples cancel their prayers with quarrels. They pray in the morning but fight in the afternoon, and the heaven they opened shuts by evening. The same happens in churches where leaders pray but harbour offences against one another. Agreement is not lip service—it requires humility, forgiveness, and the discipline to align your will with God’s will.

Agreement is not that both of you just want the same thing, but that you both want God’s thing.

Beloved, the law of agreement is a divine shortcut to answered prayers. If you can find one or two people who will genuinely agree with you in the Spirit, you have multiplied your chances of breakthrough. Guard such relationships jealously. Husbands and wives, do not let the devil cheat you—repair offences quickly and return to the prayer of agreement. Friends in covenant, leaders in church, workers in ministry—learn to silence quarrels so that your united prayer will prevail. Today, make a decision: refuse to carry bitterness into prayer. Release the hurt, forgive the offence, and hold the hand of your brother or sister in the place of prayer. When agreement is intact, you will see results that solitary praying might never have produced.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I sabotaging my prayers through strife and disunity? Who do I need to forgive or reconcile with so the power of agreement can be restored in my prayer life?

PRAYER: Father, deliver me from strife. Help me walk in unity with those You have joined me to, so that our prayers will prevail and bring speedy answers. Amen.
