09 August 2025: GRACE – A DIVINE DONATION FROM GOD – 2 Peter 1:3; Isaiah 61:1–3

Grace is one of the most powerful realities that sustain the life of faith. It is not just an abstract concept; it is a divine donation — God’s willingness to release His power and resources on your behalf. Grace is what turns impossibility into possibility. It enables you to do things that you could never do by your own strength or training. You cannot live the Christian life or fulfil divine assignments successfully without understanding and embracing the operation of grace. For instance, if someone is naturally shy but has been called by God to preach His Word, grace will rest upon him and empower him to stand boldly and speak with unexplainable clarity and authority. That’s not just training — it is grace in motion.

Grace is different from natural skill or ability.

Natural ability can be learnt and developed through exposure and practice. But grace is donated — it is a divine enablement that goes beyond the reach of human learning. A person may attend the best public speaking schools and still not communicate the burden of God effectively. On the other hand, someone who struggles with public speaking in the natural can be transformed under the anointing into a compelling and Spirit-inspired communicator. The difference is grace. Isaiah 61 shows us a prophetic example of what grace looks like in a person’s life: “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD hath anointed me…” This anointing is grace in action — bringing beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and praise for heaviness.

When Peter writes that grace and peace are multiplied through the knowledge of God, he gives us a key. You grow in grace as your knowledge of God deepens. Peace, described in Scripture as “nothing missing, nothing broken,” is part of this divine package. It is an undisturbed equilibrium that keeps your heart stable no matter the storm. Today, you must ask yourself: what grace has God donated to my life? Are you aware of it, and are you activating it daily? Don’t ignore the grace God has given you. Don’t try to achieve by flesh what only grace can produce. Your faith journey must be sustained by grace, not by struggle.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Do you recognize the grace God has donated to you? How are you currently activating that grace in your daily life?

Lord, help me to fully utilize the grace You’ve given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
