The believer is designed by God to live primarily from the spirit rather than from the flesh. Galatians 5:25 instructs clearly, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Living by your spirit means you consciously yield daily to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, choosing His promptings above your physical senses or natural reasoning.
When you live from your spirit, you operate with supernatural clarity, discernment, and confidence. Your spirit, guided by the Holy Spirit, becomes your primary decision-making centre, aligning you precisely with God’s intentions and purpose for your life. This spiritual approach protects you from unnecessary pitfalls and errors resulting from reliance on human wisdom alone.
Living from your spirit also brings you into a deeper experience of divine peace.
Romans 8:6 explains, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Spiritual-mindedness ensures that your thoughts, words, and actions consistently reflect God’s character, aligning you with His perfect will.
Decide today to consciously yield to your spirit and to follow its guidance. Consistently meditate on God’s Word, maintain sensitivity to the Spirit’s promptings, and allow your spirit to govern your decisions. By doing this, your life will consistently reflect God’s best, bringing glory to His name and drawing others to Christ.
