As you continue to speak in tongues, you would begin to experience more of God’s refreshing and renewal. You cannot do spiritual work, for instance, preaching, teaching, or ministering the word and expect to recover naturally through physical rest. Speaking in tongues brings refreshing and renewal to your spirit.
Anybody that belittles speaking in tongues is endangering his Christian life with the spiritual warfares involved. When you pray in tongues, you are praying in the codes of heaven. It is like you are sending a coded message to heaven. The devil has no understanding of what you are saying because according to 1 Cor. 14:2, when you speak in tongues, you speak not unto men but unto God. The people that attack speaking in tongues and say it is nonsense are people who confuse the gift of interpretation of tongues and the prayer language that the Holy Ghost brings into your life. You must not confuse these at all, for they are two separate things.
When you pray in the spirit, it is through a coded channel – that of the Holy Spirit and your spirit. Therefore, the importance of having a genuine baptism in the Holy Ghost, as a child of God, cannot be overstressed. It is possessing it and exercising yourself in it constantly that will hook up your spirit with divine information which will birth accuracy in your life’s steps. Speaking in tongues is a personalised hotline between a born-again child and his Father in heaven.
