Embrace The Suffering That Builds You

One of the greatest weaknesses in modern Christianity is the unwillingness to endure anything difficult for the sake of God’s purpose. Many believers want the blessings of God but resist the path that develops the strength required to carry those blessings. Yet the Bible instructs believers to arm themselves with the same mindset that Christ carried-a mindset that understood suffering as part of the journey of obedience. When a person refuses this reality, the devil easily destabilises him through fear, pressure, or discomfort. But when a believer has already settled in his heart that he will remain faithful regardless of hardship, the enemy loses one of his strongest weapons. The devil cannot easily intimidate a Christian who has made up his mind to stand firm in his calling.

Jesus demonstrated this mindset throughout His earthly life. He knew clearly what His assignment involved, including the suffering that awaited Him. When people warned Him about the danger ahead, He did not retreat or adjust His course to avoid discomfort. Instead, He continued moving forward with clarity and determination because His heart was already settled concerning His purpose. This kind of inner conviction is what strengthens a believer when the road becomes difficult. Without it, many people abandon their responsibilities whenever they encounter resistance. But when your heart is aligned with the calling God has given you, challenges become opportunities to demonstrate that your faith is genuine.

Every meaningful purpose in life requires endurance. Faith develops when it is tested. Love grows when it continues even under pressure. Purpose becomes real when it is pursued despite obstacles. This is why Scripture encourages believers not to fear the difficulties that accompany obedience. Instead of seeing them as signs of failure, you must recognise them as part of the formation process. The Christian life is not a game but a serious journey that requires courage and perseverance. When you accept this truth, you stop running from discomfort and begin to face challenges with faith. Through that process, your character becomes stronger, your spirit becomes mature, and you grow into the kind of person who can faithfully carry the calling God has placed upon your life.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

Have I truly accepted that challenges are part of the journey of faith? Am I willing to remain faithful to my calling even when the road becomes difficult?

PRAYER

Lord, give me the courage to endure every challenge connected to my calling. Strengthen my faith so that I will remain steadfast in fulfilling Your purpose for my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
