The violation of divine instruction not to eat a particular fruit in the Garden of Eden brought the curse of sin, sickness, and poverty upon man. God’s direct instructions to man, from the beginning till date, have preserved man from the assaults of the enemy.
In the scriptures, God gave instructions on many issues related to healthy living, e.g., the kind of food to eat (Lev. 11:1-47), lifestyles to adopt, isolation or quarantine of a person suspected of having an infection to protect the healthy ones (Lev. 13:1-59), and so on.
Adhering to these instructions guarantees life and health for the believer.
If you also look at the world today, most of the very dangerous diseases that afflict men in our generation came from a direct violation of divine instructions. God warned men against sleeping with animals (bestiality), and there are diseases human beings suffer from today that are a direct violation of the instructions of God. God also warned men against incest, and there are also diseases today that are more associated with cases of consanguinity. When we keep and are obedient to the instructions of the Lord, He preserves our health and keeps us safe.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive grace to obey divine instructions continually, especially for the preservation of my life and health, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
