There is always a vacuum at the top and it is not reserved for the mediocre, it is reserved for the best. In any field of human endeavor, you will always find this vacuum at the top. Will you fill in that space or keep basking in the backward euphoria at the base of the ladder of life? God wants you to be up there in whatever field you find yourself, so that through you, He can enforce His kingdom and carry out His divine plans but this is not automatic. If you purpose in your heart to be the best, you already have the backing of God, and you can be sure to become the best. That drive and resilience must be in you always. Don’t be satisfied with the level you find yourself NOW, seek to beat your best and the best there is. Be the reference point, because God wants you to be just that.

For example, God needed a Joseph to become the prime minister of Egypt so as to be able to preserve Israel, His people. Joseph did not bribe his way up to that position, rather, he harnessed his gift of interpretation of dreams and this qualified Him. Don’t forget that he did not start out as a good interpreter of dreams, after all he could not even properly interpret his own dream as a teenager, but God gave him opportunities to perfect his gift and he eventually got to where God had prepared for Him. What are you doing with your own gift?

Matthew 5:14 -"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on cannot hill cannot be hid."

A hill is an area of land that is higher than the surrounding land. God says you are a light. He is not just addressing a description here, but an expectation also. That is what God is expecting of you. The time for the world to model excellence should be now. The Church should model this. Our results in life should be a reference point for others which is why this word is coming to you, to inspire you and spur you on to bring out the best that is in you, which God has put there. You don’t get gold by scratching the surface of the soil. You dig and dig until you locate it. This also applies to the best that is in you. It is that best that everyone is looking for and that is what will get you up there.

Prayer: Father, I thank you because I know You have deposited something great in me, that will unlock great doors. Open my eyes to them and help me not to fall short of divine expectation. Amen
