John 1:16 says “And of His fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.”

No human being anoints another. Men of God can serve as pipes for the anointing but all genuine anointing come from one source and that is the Lord God Almighty. And the Bible says out of the fullness of the anointing of Jesus Christ all of us will receive in measures. We need to understand what God looks for before He can anoint any individual; On the other hand, what are the things that do not move God?

There is a huge difference between being gifted and being anointed. It is the anointing that brings the blessings of the kingdom not giftedness. There is a difference between the Church and the kingdom. The Church is the visible manifestation of God’s kingdom and God’s kingdom simply speaks of God’s rulership, dominion and authority. The Church is a means for us to enter the kingdom, like an introduction to the kingdom. You may be going to Church but you are not becoming part of God’s kingdom just because you don’t know what you are supposed to walk in. In the world, men celebrate things that are largely abominable before God.

In 1 Samuel 16, there is the story of a man named Jesse and his children out of whom one, David was anointed. What qualified David for the anointing and disqualified his brothers? I will be dealing with that shortly so that you can begin to build into your life those things that will make you anointed.

It is the anointing that makes you a blessing. It is not ability, brilliance or any other thing.

At the time God instructed Samuel to anoint David as His choice, Saul was still the official king but in Samuel’s closet, God had said, “I have rejected him.”  God did not discuss this with the children of Israel, so they still saw Saul as the king. They thought he still had the anointing but God had rejected him because of certain things that he had done.

Don’t forget that it was the Lord that talked to Samuel, not a man. It is not a man that anoints. You will be in error when you think that pleasing a man will get you anointed.

Prayer: Father, I ask that you will qualify me for the anointing of my destiny and make my life a visible expression of your glory on the earth in Jesus’ name. Amen.
