The devil will want to lure you away from God’s waiting room but you must not allow Him. You are the one that might not know that God is true to His word; the devil knows. That is why he would try to lure you away and make you feel that God has forgotten you. He would also give you alternatives to the promise of God. Sadly, those who went after the devil’s option always had to bite their fingers.

Has God promised you a child or a job or a marital partner? Wait for Him. When God gives you an instruction or a promise, the devil will come immediately to give you an alternative. Abraham was promised an heir, but the devil pushed him into sleeping with Hagar. When the word of God comes to you, as much as it brings comfort, you must immediately enter into a battle mode because great opposition will come to afflict that word.

It is not your certificate that the devil is looking for, neither is it your fame or affluence. What the devil is looking for in your life, to corrupt or steal, is the Word of God. In Mark 4:17, the Bible says, “…when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake...” The devil will hold nothing back in his arsenal to contend fiercely with the word of God in your life. He knows that the word of God is sure and potent, so he will seek to mitigate it. What God expects of you is to protect the word of God in your heart as well as His promises to you. Once His word comes to you, protect it and wage war with it. Don’t let the devil corrupt God’s word through discouragement, negative thoughts etc.

How can you protect the word of God?

a.Believe it

b.Receive it

c.Confess it

Be persuaded of His word and let it dictate your belief and your direction. Don’t forget, once the devil succeeds in stealing or corrupting God’s word in your heart, you have become his prey.

Prayer: Father, I receive the strength to protect Your word in my heart and to continually put my trust in You. The devil will not succeed in stealing or corrupting Your word in my heart in Jesus‘ name. Amen.
