In this passage, we see Lot and Abraham come out of Egypt, he and his wife and all they had and Lot with him unto the South. Lot went with him with smartness, not with an understanding of the law of greatness. A smart person can see somebody that God’s hand is upon and hang around him to be feeding off him. A wise person understands the laws of greatness and serves the greatness of that person for his own greatness to emerge.
The devil is not planning to separate you from everybody, he wants to separate you from those whose greatness contains your own greatness. You will find some of your most emotional battles and most sensitive quarrels centre around those individuals whose greatness will release your own greatness. Abraham was looking for the greatness of Lot, but Lot wasn’t looking for Abraham’s greatness. Have you seen people that are not satisfied with being blessed by somebody, instead they want to take the place of that person? That is the spirit of Lot; it’s a terrible spirit.
Lot didn’t see that the future of that place was not rosy. Lot seemed to be more successful and more prosperous at a point (physically), Abraham was more prosperous at that point. Prosperity doesn’t start with your circumstances, it starts with your relationship with God and that is why many people that don’t understand the basis and the heart of prosperity throw their relationship with God away at the expense of getting things. God attracts positive things and as a child of God, you should work towards having more of God in your life.
PRAYER: Lord purge me of every error of heart and posture that seeks my own thing and not what God is giving me in Jesus’ name. Amen!
