When God wants to bless you specially, he separates you. There are general blessings and there are specific blessings. The Bible says He causes His rain to fall on the just and the unjust (Matt. 5:45). That is general blessing. But His deliverance doesn’t happen to the just and the unjust. The Bible says the righteous will escape but the wicked will be taken (Prov. 11:8).

God always separates. He separated between the Jews and the Egyptians in Egypt. The Jews were in Goshen and there was no problem in Goshen. There was light there but in Egypt, there was darkness. God said He did all that so that the world will know He has put a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel (Exo. 11:7b). You can’t be serving God seriously and He will not separate you when He is giving out His blessing.

Joseph was separated from the rest of his brethren and look at the blessings that came upon him. The Bible says,“They shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.” (Gen. 49:26). Blessing is something you provoke and it is an individual thing. Five people can be in a place and one of them does something that provokes the blessing of God and then God puts that blessing on him.

Respond to the separation of God that leads to blessing. Fasting is one of such separations that leads to blessing. It is a separation for revelation. Fasting is a booster to any spiritual activity. It also helps to connect to gifts of the Spirit.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for strength to stand by the divine demands for me to separate from whatever can hinder me from pressing into my blessings in Jesus’ name. Amen!
